This is how the story goes. This guy has had an rd in his family for the last 15 years (2 rds at some point) however due to bad mech service and lack of parts the bikes were real bad shape. He also purchases standard size barrels over the years and runs his bike with them.
This year after i installed RDD cdi on my rd he comes over rides the bike hard he's amazed by the temperature of the engine, He's hooked from then on and asks me to get the RDD goodies 4 him as well.
The last few trips to bangalore have been to get most of his barrels (which were rebored to .25, and the porting done to combo spec, as his barrels were one side lt and one side ht) ready.
So armed with the barrels cdi n Chinoy Filter we assembled the bike and after hours of making sure every thing was in order we started the bike.
Sound is smooth and the sound of the engine as the cdi starts retarding after 3500 rpm is super sweet, we broke into a smile, never in its life has the bike been so well tuned .
After dinner at 11pm i left for home sent a msg to my fren one single word 'happy?'
The reply came quick 'Euphoria!!'
Apparently he was standing by the bike in the garage for the next few hours just reveling in this new found sunshine.
Asked him if it was worth the money spent, every paise and much more was the answer. On the spot his much elder brother started chatting about the times he was on college on the same rd and how good it was now, and also sponsored for a new fz setup in front hahaha.
We shall be fine tuning the bike and running it in in a few days will keep u posted about the performance and the pics
