Automotive Technical Articles. If your a port grinder then you will have in your arcenel at least one hand pice that can handle a 3-4mm shank bit.

Or worst case even a dremel. In which case you would have surelly suffered like I have over the years with Mandrels. For some reason Ive never had much luck with the Dremel or other Mandrels. They never seem last for more than one pair of barrels. They seem at best very flimsy and any thing heaver than a cut off wheel will mean you need a new mandrel. Esp. when mounting the slightlly larger round stones.

Automotive Technical Articles.Werther your a tuner or a cosmetics guy. Contours are everything.

If your like me you've probably spent hundreds of hours cutting different kinds of heads. On paper its easy you do the math get your MSV numbers and cut your head. But every now and then you will cut a head that turns out so good even you cant figure out what it was. How do you repeat the superb and avoid the bad ones. How do you provide consistent results to your customers.
How do you change the cut of your head based on the piston your running.
How does the Dome of a Wiseco piston differ from the dome of a Pro-X piston.
How do you make sure you have an even gap between the dome of the piston and the new head you have cut.
How do you contour that fiberglass mould to make sure the curvature on both sides is the same.

Automotive Technical Articles.Ok how many of you are particular about the brand of gas you buy. Do you know how to spot the good pumps and companies from the bad.
