In todays day and age where everybody and their uncles are either building engines in the USA or UK or SE Asaia. Or flying in experts from Japan.
I spoke to the guys at Edyne, Bisimoto, and many other speed shops around the world. All have worked on or are working on Engines from India.
Be it two strokes or four strokes. A lot of work is now being done outside the country.
In the old days only rich race teams would get their race engines ported outside the country. And then sell watered down copies of that work.
Claiming it to be their own. But in today's times its not just race teams who are getting their work done outside the country. Its also private individuals.
We took the decision as a Team to build our Engine in India.
Everything from valve seats, to valve guides, to head porting, to re-boring. Was done in India.
Its not like we did not have the budget to send the head to the USA for porting. Or to get the various jobs that needed to be done.
But we wanted to see just what was possible to achieve while building the engine in India.
Im proud to say we can now claim to be on par with the best in the world.
And once again Proudly Built and Tuned in Inida.
We hope that going forward Honda steps up to the plate and makes sourcing of spares an easy process. All efforts are on to sort out the spares issues.
Once this is done dont even need to worry about spares.
Team Tiger also has big plans to start manufacturing all the spares we need locally.
Be it pistons, cams, or Manifolds, exhausts etc. Lets see how it goes. All depends on what kind of support we get from the local market.
We can say we have put the Indian Tuning scene on the International map. And not in a bad way. As has often been the case in the past.
For those who dont know what Tiger1 is. It is a Honda City Vtec 1.5 NA Engine that we built for the National Super Sallon Races. It has made close to double of what the stock car makes. Doubling the engine output of a NA engine while keeping the RPMs low (Due to stock Internals). Is an achievement we can be proud off.
Right now the Rev Limit is set at 8400. Once we go forged Internals. We plan to lift the limiter to 12,000 RPM.
Proudly Built, Ported, & Tuned in India. By an Indian.
