New Digital CDI on my RX 135 - feedback

Post by sanjaymugur » Thu Jun 09, 2005 11:12 pm

I recently got the RDD Digital CDI fitted on my RX 135 & here is the feedback...

pre-CDI set up
RX 135, 4 speed, 2002 model, 3mm exhaust ported, R-1100 K&N filter, Catalytic converter stays on the bike...

Installed the new Digital CDI bought from Mr Chinoy..
changes observed......
1. the engine revs up smoothly & has no harsness while
revving at high RPM...
1st gear - touches 40kmph
2nd gear - ''" 60kmph
3rd gear - "" 80kmph
4th gear - "" 105kmph

2. Engine is real cool all the time even after ripping
hard... when i came back from Addu's shop i ripped hard
& engine was amazingly cool & i could give a pat on
the bore head... earlier, i could not even take my hand
close to bore head after ripping for 10-12kms.... this is
really great...

3. Another testimony of engine being cool was when i
took a test drive to kanakapura which is 55kms from
bangalore ..earlier,after some 20kms continious
driving engine used to get heated up & i could not go
beyond 100kmph... now my bike easily touches
105-106kmph & stays there & after continious 55km drive engine was
amazingly cool...

4.Pollution results:- ( with a heated catalytic converter)
1. Before installing CDI -
CO - 1.2
HO - 940
2. After installing CDI
CO - 1.0
HO - 540

5. Mileage - earlier i used to get 29kmpl after harsh driving.... now i get around 32kmpl with the same style of riding....this is in city limits...

6. The gear shift has become really smooth now... i dont know what is the relationship..the way the engine idle's is a beauty... unstrainted to keep the engine alive...

7.The only -ve thing is that i am facing a bit of starting problem...

Million thanks to Mr Chinoy for coming out with this product... It has just increased the life of my RX 135 with me......

thanks once again Mr Chinoy...

Firstlly thanks for the kind words.
It should be mentioned you where allready runing a performance CDI kit (Ravi Nagesh Kit with TVS50 CDI).

And to think Somender Singh got his name into popular Science cause his head mods droped Pokution by 3% in one RPM band.

People owning a RX/RXG and not runing this CDI are just plain mentally retarded.

If you want more power here are some ideas.
1. Sell those K&N to somebody and install the Unnis.
2. Upjet
3. Buy a new plug and mod it. Make the earth strap pointed and experiment with diffirent plug gaps.

If the wasted spark is causing starting issues. Configure the CDI for wasted spark on.
SHort the white wire to the green.

Mr Chinoy,
let me know when Chinoy Filter filter's will be up for sale....
upjet -> scared of mileage drop..... my limit is that mileage can't drop below 30kmpl...already close to 60K kms in 3yrs... planning to travel even more...
can wait for ur mass production EC pipes... would love it to be silent than RX 100 exhaust.....

Well your geting better top speed.
The engine is runing cooler.
And your geting more mileage

So I guess your doing quite well to just leave it as it is.

Was reading the Times Auto section. And was thinking man what lame arse articles these poor guys have to write.

What the *bleep* are the auto jurons doing. They can write huge articles on total crap. But really break thru news like this they couldnt be bothered.
I know anybody with a remote connection can get an article published. On the most stupid of topics. But really ground breaking news and they dont have a clue.
I will not approach the bugers. They should be doing their own home work.
