My Nicotine Addiction.
My grand mother smoked from the age of 16. My grand father smoke a pipe. Both died of heart complications.
But at a ripe old age.
I started to smoke in the 5th STD. My first smoke with Sriraj behind the cricket sore board off the RSI club. We would cycle past it everyday yes I cycled from 4th std from cooke town to Bishops. More like raced lol. Had solid thighs and enjoyed cycling to Nandhi hills for fun. We did it as part of growing up not some fad.
My 8th STD i was hooked. A 20s pack of Charms was Rs 4/-
I smoked thru school and collage. More weed than tobacco most days.

After I crossed 42 I began to feel the effect of smoking. I would tire easy. I would be breathless easy.
Then came a cancer scare followed by a heart attack.

All the while I never once thought of stopping I enjoyed it too much. I was confident that if I was to take some silly new years resolution to stop and failed it would be harder to stop the next time. Addiction 101. i.e. each time you try and fail your next times chances of working falls. So I never tried.

I knew smoking was bad. There was no doubt that smokers are 10 times more likely to get cancer.
That smokers would develop circulation problems. Which I had. My legs swelling up. Yet I continued to smoke.

After much much thought I began to believe that smokers in fact have a death wish. No matter how smart they think they are deep down they really just want to die. There was no other explanation.

Having finally stopped smoking my views on the subject have taken an about turn. Its got nothing to do with a secret death wish the truth is something far removed.
Many people have stopped smoking without realizing this. Some have tried and failed and still dont understand whats really going on in their heads.

What is an addiction ?. Its something that changes your for ever. There is no going back. I believe we are all born perfect.
But then we tamper with Nature. We do something stupid like trying to smoke. Our brains change for ever. The chemical balance and pathways are rewired for every.

Nicotine messes with dopamine. And the reward centers of the brain. Its a stimulant. While at the same time there are alkeloids which calm and slow down the brain.

The real reasons why people who smoke have problems stopping is simply because when they stop. They are no longer the person they where. When you smoke you are no longer depressed. Nicotine is an antidepressant. Your brain feels like a computer on a Turbo. It does not make you smarter. If your brain is a 20 BHP engine on nicotine it feels like a 40 BHP engine.
If your brain is 100 BHP it feels like 200 BHP.

To give you an example. When I stopped smoking it was taking me 4 days to build one CDI. When I was smoking I could do one in 1 day. So to me Id rather not live feeling like a drooling idiot. This is the true problem.

The problem with e-cig is that it will give you just nicotine. There are none of those other alkaloids so you feel speeded up but there is nothing to calm you down. At least it solves half of the problem.

This is why smokers find it so hard to quit. This is why people who stop their very nature changes. They become different people.
I have no doubt that a lot of my drive and determination comes from my smoking.

If I dont smoke I prefer to spend my day just watching TV. All work comes to a stand still. If I smoke or get my nicotine I feel driven to get shit done.

Im sure if one where to totally stop in a few years you would return to normal. I dont feel I have a few years to piss down the drain waiting for my brain to become normal again. There is too much to do. To achieve. So I plan to remain on e-cig for the rest of my life. The Govt can play what games it wants with the Big Tobacco lobby pulling the strings I dont care.

If they ban e-cig Ill got to the chewing gums. Not a big deal. Gum is cheaper. And the Govt does not have the balls to touch the Big Pharma Gum industry.

One thing I am sure off smokers pay a very very high price. for the nicotine addiction. Now when I see somebody smoking. I feel like Im watching somebody harm their own body. Why do they do it. When they could switch to e-cig get the same effect without any of the health risks I dont know.

My objective in life now is to educate people that there is hope.
No matter what your addiction there is always a solution. If you dont want to ask on open forum e-mail me.
Smoking, drinking, drug addiction they all have cures. Research them for your self and free your self.

There are going to be a subset of people. For whom e-cig will not work.
BY not working I mean. They go back to smoking or doing both.
This can be linked to stress, health, mental state, etc.

The only way to beat this is to play mental games with your self.

One method was to promise your self some good new gear for every 3 months you stop.
The other way is to be smart enough to accept the addiction and fight it.

You have to find your own motivation. Just remember every time you light up you re-set the counter on since I last smoked.

That motivation differs from person to person.
For one midle aged woman it was the fact that smoking was going to give her wrinkles and make her look 10 years older than her actual age.
For me it was first the pain of the heart attack. And now after my recent relapse I have made fitness my number 1 priority. People who know me. WIll understand what Im refering to.
I want to be super fit. I want to improve my stamina. And I want to most of all make sure my blood circulation is healthy and stays this way for as many years as possible.
So I cant smoke. No matter how good it makes me feel. Having fun in the sack is more important to me than smoking.

So you need to find that one thing that keeps you from smoking and use it.

There is without a doubt. Drugs in tobacco that calm you down. Make you feel relaxed and which work as antidepressants.
But it is possible to survive without them or smoking. With the right mental approach. And fitness.
Worst case seek help for your depression, panic attacks. ANything would be better than smoking.

The number 1 reason for people continuing to smoke after e-cig is that first cig of the day. Or the early morning smoke. Which allows you to crap. Without which you feel like you cant crap.
I understand this feeling. And my solution was simply to smoke an e-juice with WTA in it. WTA stands for Whole Tobacco Alkeloids.
Any flavor which is tobacco leaf 100% natural flavor will have it.
Some examples are
1. Mysore Leaf
2. Orisa Leaf
3. Champange Cigar
4. Prize Fighter Cigar
5. Honey Do
Flavors which wont have it.
Cuban Cigar
RY4 (All our RY4 variations).
Western
Turkish
etc etc
